In 1995, I was diagnosed with breast cancer: I was 35 years old. Up to that point, I had a hectic lifestyle, working two jobs. I was a chef in a high-end, San Francisco restaurant and a physical therapist in a rehab hospital caring for patients with brain and spinal cord injuries. I thought I'd led a pretty healthy life - I was in great shape from mountain biking and lifting patients four to six hours a day, and I'd been eating lots of fresh vegetables and fish. But, in hindsight, I can also see that I consumed a lot of processed sugars, wine and caffeine and I rarely sat down to enjoy a meal. My pace of life and diet had been quietly undermining my health.

After dealing with the toxicity of surgical anesthesia and six months of chemotherapy, I was completely exhausted. My skin was gray, I had a metallic taste in my mouth, and I was bloated and constipated. To supplement the chemotherapy, I sought out eastern medical practices such as acupuncture and Reiki, and also did colonics. My colon hydrotherapist suggested I do a wheat grass and green juice cleanse to help flush the toxic chemicals and recalibrate my body.

So, I signed up for a seven-day cleanse at a retreat center. The second and third day weren't easy - I was fatigued, bored, mentally foggy, craving food and riding an emotional rollercoaster. But after surviving chemo, I knew I could get through this. I added Epsom salt baths to help calm my body before bed and draw toxins from my skin, and I carried on.

By day four, I felt a shift - I was no longer hungry and I'd started shedding some pounds. By the end of the week, the results were miraculous: I'd completely lost the bloat (my pants were loose!), the metallic taste in my mouth was gone and my skin looked vibrant. I felt like the vibration had shifted in every cell of my body - I had tons of energy and amazing mental clarity. I've done cleanses twice a year since then to keep my body on track. More than 12 years later, I'm still cancer-free.

That cleanse changed my life. I left the restaurant and rehab facility to focus my work on creating cleansing foods and opening my own catering business. Along the way, I met Adina. Based on our work and personal experiences, we knew an all-juice fast wasn't for everyone. So we decided to combine our knowledge to create a cleanse that was more warming and filling - the end result was a predecessor of her Winter Wake-Up.

I encourage anyone thinking about cleansing to consider it a vacation for their digestive track. Expect and look forward to the profound shift you're going to experience rather than focusing on the fact that you won't be eat like you usually do - it's so much easier that way. It's a gift you give to your body and your body will thank you!

I'm a thirty six year old man who had never tried a cleanse before. I suddenly realized I didn't have energy that I wanted I felt tired. People started making comments about how I looked. I had rings under my eyes and my skin wasn't as clear as it used to be. I knew I hadn't been eating as well as I should. So, after some convincing that a cleanse was in order, I decided to try Adina's 3-Day Face Lift. I felt like time was short, so a three-day cleanse was perfect. Once day three was over, all I wanted was more.

The first day I was really hungry. By the second day I was still hungry but it was different. I felt a bit off, but it wasn't the same hunger. I was skeptical about this whole cleanse thing, but I could feel my body responding, so I stayed the course. I woke up the third day rejuvenated and excited. I had a great deal of energy. My skin was clearer, the circles under my eyes were gone and people mentioned it. I looked and felt more alive, much more, and it was directly related to what I had been eating, or rather, not eating.

I admit that before doing this cleanse I was hesitant, but I'm now a true believer in what food can do and what good food can really do. I feel healthier, have more energy, and my mind is clear. All I can say is you're kidding yourself if you think you know what living is until you've taken the time to cleanse yourself. I'll do it again, that much I know.

After losing my beloved mother to breast cancer at an early age, I began to get regular screenings done. I also used thermography* for early detection. At one point, the thermogram indicated that my left breast was "hot," so my doctor suggested a cleanse.

I was very nervous about doing a cleanse, as I had never done one. So, I called my best friend to do the cleanse with me. We juiced together for seven days. I also did colonics during that time.

I found the cleanse to be a fascinating experience. I actually could feel that I was detoxing. After the cleanse, I did another thermogram and my left breast had 'cooled down' to normal. The cleanse worked! I've since moved to Reno, and I just did my second cleanse on my own. I made my own juices and mineral broths, and did enemas at home. It was much easier the second time. Again, I could feel my body detoxing.

I fully believe in this cleansing process. It makes so much sense to let your body rest from food and allow it to clean house and detox its vital organs. I am a firm believer in the food/body health concept. I love the taste of fresh juices and the broths. I make juice everyday now for myself and my husband.
